Z okazji urodzin Panczenlamy, które były obchodzone 25 kwietnia 2003, przez kolejny tydzień Students For a Free Tibet zamierza wysyłać do Ambasady i Konsulatu ChRL w Polsce list w sprawie jego uwolnienia i apeluje o przyłączanie się do tej akcji.

I am writing to express my great concern over the disappearance of Gedhun Choekyi Nima, the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet.
In 1995, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was recognized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as the 11th reincarnation of the Panchen Lama, Tibet's second most important spiritual leader. Soon afterwards, six-year old Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, along with his close family members, was seized by the Chinese government and placed under house arrest.
To date, not a single international agency or human rights organization has been allowed to meet with the Panchen Lama or his family, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The Chinese government took Gedhun Choekyi Nyima because he is an important spiritual figure for the Tibetan people. In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Dalai Lama and the Panchen Lama have a very special relationship. When one passes away, the other plays a key role in the search for his reincarnation. The Chinese government believes that by controlling the Panchen Lama it will control the fate of the Dalai Lama and thus the fate of Tibet.
Please take action to help secure the release of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet, and ensure that Tibetan culture and identity are not extinguished.
